Edit-in-document

Reduce staff training. Improve accuracy.

Most computer systems and a “caption and field” data entry page, from which data a document is generated. Near is a typical example.

Edit-in-document uses the final document as the data-entry page. It has editable input fields embedded in the document. This is ideal for applications which need to collect a wide variety of information in different circumstances. The first advantage is reduced staff training as they only have to learn the documents that will be created, which is presumably part of their non-computer training, as there are no computer data-entry pages to learn as well. Accuracy tends to be improved as users have clearer understanding of each field. The last major advantage is that new edit-in-documents are created by the client using a WYSIWYG editor, reducing IT upgrade costs.
